In India many bracelets and bangles are worn by both men and women. In my efforts to continue to use plastic bottles and bags as much as I can in my projects, we made some Bottle Bangles at Latika Vihar (the after school program). First we cut out the plastic bangle from the middle of the bottles, then we wrapped them in fabric and decorated with the bottoms of the bottles. Some of the kids even used the leftover tops of the bottles as little toy trumpets! It was nice to see the whole bottle being used, and I loved it when my little buddy Asheesh turned the bottle bottom into a star (2nd picture from the bottom).

Cool stuff Lauren. Over at Pop's playground we did a lot of stuff with plastic bottles, and they work great as a permanent mural. you can paint, or fill them with fabric like you did (great idea!) them on the inside and then affix them to a wall or piece of wood( like an old door).
great suggestion aja. we still have tons of bottles to use;-)
