Newspaper Sculpture

The kids at the Latika Vihar after school program and I made a newspaper sculpture last Thursday. Actually they mostly made it, I just gave them the tools:
Rolled Newspaper Tubes
Tape

This project got the kids thinking about balance, structure, shape, line and weight. They figured out that the triangle is the based base shape to make for this project and built from there. This kind of work also forced the kids to work on their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and tapped into their creativity and imagination. The final sculpture was bigger than some of our 7 year olds.
Pretty Fun!
