Well, our friends are here and our travels have begun. Kristin and Derek arrived 12am Sunday morning and we headed back tour our favorite hotel thd Grand Godwin where we chatted a bit and ultimately collapsed to sleep. The next morning we took them through a short tour of our surrounding streets and Canought Place. Then it was time for a nap. Later we went out for dinner at United Coffee House where we had delicious Indian food. The next day our budy/taxi drive Manish picked us up at 10am for the 7 hour ride back to Dehra Dun. He took us along the Gange's canal, which was by far one of the most beautiful drives I have experienced in India. Although a bit bumpy at times it was much quiter as we passed through golden and green country sides, and dusty buy colorful villages. It was fun to watch the kids swim with the water buffalos in the canal, and see women's sari's drying along the river bank. Just beautiful!
Currently we are in Dehra Dun mapping out the end of our journey which includes a trip up into the Himalayan mountains, and a visit to the Taj Mahal with Kristin and Derek. Will and I are also looking into staying at a small villa in Goa for the last week of our time in India.
